These amplifiers offer a very neutral, open, quite deep and definately hifi experience. It cannot be faulted for the sort of money they sell for secondhand. I wholeheartedly recommend this amplifier if, like me, you once delved heavily in audiophilia and now take things a lot less seriously but still know and demand good performance from your equipment. Solidly built with a decent phono stage you don't need to look any further than the Denon PMA-560 if you're considering buying a quality budget amplifier. Comments I compare it with hes bigger brother, the Denon PMA 720, a Marantz PM6010 OSE KI and a Nad 3020i. Sound: The soudstage is very wide, not to deep tough, but he is able to recreate a soundstage and fill the gap between the speakers like no other mencioned above. Low and medium volume levels, this is an Absolute sweat sounding amp with with deep controlled bass, warm detailed midrange and crystal clear highs, thanks to Denon's optical class A biasing which keeps this baby singing in full class A at low to medium volumes. My speakers are huge floor standers which are difficult to drive because of their low impedance, but no problem for this amp. Only on high volume beyond comfortable listening levels, do the wheels come of on this 70 watt amp and manifests itself in the highs becoming a little aggressive.
